Meet Your Host
Hi, I'm Elizabeth!
When I started my career in NYC public schools, I felt completely helpless on how to help my students in reading.
I knew my language work should matter. I just had no idea how.
I couldn't find trainings built for SLPs. I didn't know how to translate what I knew into literacy intervention. I kept wondering where speech pathology ended and reading instruction began, and nobody around me had answers.
So I found them myself.
I learned how the science of reading connects directly to our language expertise, and it changed everything.
I eventually left the school system, built a private practice specializing in literacy intervention, and have spent the last decade helping SLPs go from uncertain to unstoppable when it comes to reading.
That's why I created The Reading SLP Summit: my first-ever virtual summit, the event I've been dreaming about building for years.
Every speaker was hand-picked because they are leading this conversation in our field and speaking directly to the challenges you face every day.
This is the event I wished I had when I first became an SLP. I can't wait to share it with you.
You dream of finding a way to teach reading that builds on your existing language expertise and actually works for the students on your caseload.
How would it feel to...
Confidently own your essential role on school literacy teams
Grow your private practice by adding sought-out literacy services
Have systematic frameworks for reading intervention that make sense for SLPs
Know exactly how your language expertise translates to reading support
Feel equipped to make the research-backed difference you know you can make
Help close the literacy gap for children with language-based learning challenges
This is exactly what you'll take away from
The Reading SLP Summit!
